Princeton/Rod – Kyle Baldauf
Gary Coleman – DeShawn Christiansen
Mrs. Thistletwat/Bad Idea Bear – Nicki Dougherty
Brian – Ruel Mundth
Trekkie/Nicky/Bad Idea Bear – John Jajewski

Directed by Jace Nichols and Produced by Brett J. Frazier, both Armory alums themselves, Avenue Q is a laugh out loud musical that uses muppet-style puppets, animated by unconcealed puppeteers, alongside human actors to tell the all too familiar story of a recent college grad named Princeton. Princeton moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q where he meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), and other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life!
Adults love Avenue Q, but they seem a little, er, fuzzy on whether it’s appropriate for kids. We’ll try to clear that up. Avenue Q is great for adults of all ages and even young adults in high school because it’s about real life. It’s not appropriate for young children because Avenue Q addresses issues like sex, drinking, and surfing the web for…youknow. Parents should use their discretion based on the maturity level of their children. If you are unsure, videos from previous productions are available on YouTube to give you a little taste of the show.
