Comedy at The Armory is BACK! 8/1 + 8/2

We had so much fun during our Christmas Hangover Comedy Show this past December we decided to bring comedy back to The Armory for a TWO NIGHT summer series! These shows will take place on Thursday, August 1st and Friday, August 2nd from 7:00-9:30 pm. We are SO excited to welcome back our friend Owen Alabado as the headliner. Tickets sold out in just a few days for Owen’s last show so if you missed it, this is the perfect chance to cool off at The Armory and catch some series laughs during our This Could Be Fun: Comedy at The Armory Summer Series. We hope to see you there!

Here is a little more about our headliner Owen Alabado:

Owen Alabado is a Wisconsin native who has lived out in Los Angeles for the past fifteen years. Out in LA he has worked in film and television as well as numerous national commercials. Owen got his tv break right when he moved to LA playing a key part in the “Michael Jackson Trial Reenactments”, which today was one of the hardest acting jobs he has ever had to do. Some of his TV and film highlights are a recurring role on the Showtime hit “Shameless”, roles on “Days of Our Lives”, “Loosely, Exactly, Nicole” and starring in one of the longest running tequila commercials for Hornitos. Owen has also had lead roles in numerous independent films, and has wrote and directed his own web series called “Dudes” which is a comedy loosely based off his personal life. “Dudes” has garnished numerous awards including: “Best Web Series” (Austin Indiefest), Best Webisode (Hollywood Boulevard Film Festival), Best Web Screenplay (Canadian Diversity Film Festival), just to name a few. He has also written three short films and working on writing his first feature.
Owen started doing stand up while he was doing improv. After quickly moving into a top level cast at the LA: Connection Comedy Theater and becoming an instructor, he ventured on stage at the Comedy Store and has never looked back. Owen has opened up for George Lopez, Christopher Titus, and has shared the stage with Marlon Wayans and Daniel Franzese. He has had his own residency at the Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, CA for the past year. A show called “Owen and Friends”. One of his proudest moment is being one of the headliner at the Michigan Gay and Lesbian Comedy Festival in Detroit, where he shared the stage with some of the biggest comics in the biz.

Owen graduated from the University of Wisconsin: Stevens Point and went to high school at Janesville Parker. He is thrilled to be doing in show in the town where he grew up. A town where much of his comedy was born.

Owen will be joined by 3 hilarious opening comics each night.
